As you all can probably see i have finally been able to get back on DA uploading things. long story short after my pc desktop got a million viruses (for no apparent reason other than it being a "refurbished" computer my dad made) it would barely let me upload my pictures anywhere so after a few months with only 2-3 new pictures up i'm finally catching up on DA and Facebook having just uploaded the last 6 months of my life onto a website (kinda weird to think about). but anyway that's not what i'm here to say.

recently a dear friend and i have become even closer and have been spending more time together. which i absolutely LOVE. my life right now includes working at a daycare, sleeping, and spending almost no time with any of my friends so when i get to see my friends it is amazing. Ellen () sheepishly expressed a want for me to photograph her at my family grad party when we were playing dressup in my closet. i was beyond ecstatic since i am always embarrassed to ask friends who i have never shot before to model for me and here i had a willing participant. we planned on doing a mermaid-esk high fashion shoot, however with my work schedule and her dance schedule it has not happened yet, though before the end of the summer i will come up with that wardrobe and do it.

like i normally am i always get nervous before shoots (Especially now when i have to use glasses with my camera). she came over one morning at 7 and both being tired we slept till noon then decided to raid the clothes she brought over, we decided upon somethings then i reverted back to my green dress that i love but sadly does not fit me anymore so now i force it on all my friends. lol. so i ended up putting her in that giving her one of my favorite crowns from my collection and doing a simple hairdo and doing makeup. nothing too overboard like i originally planned. after about a half hour we were ready to go out and started walking around my neighborhood and as we took the first picture i realized i forgot my glasses so she sacrificed a bit of dignity walking around a stuck up part of my town dressed like a princess and we went back to my house. i got all my stuff together without forgetting anything this time and we left for real and everything went amazingly.

i realized how much i really loved this girl when she asked me to pick between two names. i had asked her to think of a pixie-esk, forest nymph when shooting and she went so far as to create an entire character, past, (family i believe) and a believable name.  i did not have to direct this girl at all while shooting, she went off and played the nymph's character to a point where i could not see my friend. i saw before me a fantasy world not the way to the local lake. it was amazing! in the end we stopped shooting after about an hour because i ran out of frames and were both disappointed that it was cut short.

immediately  after our shoot we went out and got the supplies for her first cosplay and within two days finished Izumi curtis from fullmetal alchemist as well as Maka albarn from soul eater (a cosplay for me). I finished both of these at 2 am exactly 1 week ago since my parents told me we were going to go to my beachhouse for our makeshift vacation after we had terrible car trouble and could not make it up to maine like normally. i texted ellen immediately from the drive in and asked her to come with me. i knew then that i had to finish the costume THAT NIGHT when i got home so i could take her to the fort which shot cannonballs into a harbor in the town where my beachhouse is. i got a yes and she showed up at 7 the next morning we left at noon and the next day we experimented on how to get the flamel cross (serpents cross) onto her chest for the izumi cosplay. we tried pen, calligraphy pens (we had to use a hairdryer to make it dry which was totally entertaining. we could not keep a straight face while doing this). we made it too big but were like w/e and went down to the beach as izumi and maka and did both of our first beach cosplays. we got plenty odd stares but it was so much fun. the next day we found light brown markers and used these for the cross before our photoshoot. it turned out cleaner and we made it the right size and went off to the fort. we had a successful shoot and since they have been up they have been noted as "amazing" and was complimented and was told she SHOULD be izumi if they ever do a live action fma movie. this is the second time i have had someone say that about one of my cosplayer photographs. was said to look exactly like suki and avatar kyoshi from ATLA. i am very honored to have taken the photographs which have all these amazing compliments given to some of my dear friends. i know two riza hawekeys, two edward elrics, a rose, and an izumi now. i hope that we can get some of these people together and do a pretty epic shoot somewhere, and possibly shoot a few scenes and post them on youtube. i have a video of Izumi doing some sweet acrobatics which i will link up to youtube pretty soon.


so sorry if i embarrassed you baby talking about the hairdryer or anything else, but i love you so much. can't wait to work with you again.

p.s.- if there is anything you would like to see from izumi we'll gladly do requested poses/whatever. i need more things to photograph i dont have anything to do in my free time right now.
